Brainiacs (left) prepare to try out various historical battle cries, starting with the C18th redcoat "Huzzar!", shouted out by the sergeant and measured for effectiveness (right). Historian and series Historical Consultant Howard Giles suggested the idea and assisted on set by coaching the "sergeant" and arranging some of the costume. In the end, the American Civil War Confederate rebel yell convincingly beat Huzzar! and the 1066 Saxons' Out!
Howard supplied the series with ideas and scripting, and also assisted with on set co-ordination on Testudo and most ridiculous historical military marches.
